Default Sparking Hot Wire

Would grounding the hot alternator wire during insulation, damage the PCM and keep the engine from firing up?

Do you mean "Installation" rather than insulation?
At any rate, sparking the alt wire is never a good thing, but your not necessarily dead in the water if this happens. I've sparked alt wires before without any recourse, but that's not to say bad things can't happen as it's always possible.

If your engine isn't firing, I would double check all of your connections and make sure you are getting proper spark and make sure your fuel system is pressurized and functioning properly.

If your lucky, you blew a fuse. But yes, it could pop the pcm.

Thanks for the answers. I'll check a few more things out. But, I think I'm still going have to have it towed to the dealer to test everything on it.
