Default How do I fix a Magnaflow 16700 problem?

I installed the Magnaflow 16700 exhaust system about 2 weeks ago. Love it and I think that it is the best sounding exhaust system for the Hemi. However, I have noticed a problem over the past 2 weeks. I had my wife drive the truck while I followed her and I noticed that the driver's side tailpipe wiggled a little when she hits bumps or went over rough terrain. The exhaust has very little play but still bothers me very much. The problem is caused because the hanger that Magnaflow included with the kit is installed pretty far back from the tip which allows the tailpipe to wiggle a bit, as the passenger side hanger is installed very close to the tip, which doesnt allow it to wiggle at all. The solution to this problem is to install an extra hanger closer to the tip of the tailpipe, but I have not found one that will work. Does anyone with this same exhaust have a fix to this problem? or a hanger that will work?

I have also thought about changing out the rubber boot hanger to a urethane one, but I do not know if that will fix it. It will make it stiffer, but there is still a lot of tailpipe that is not really well supported closer towards the tip.

Mine does this too. I think a stiffer rubber hanger should fix the problem. I just haven't taken the time to find one. I have been meaning to contact Magnaflow about it, but never have.

i've got duals out the back and just before the tips start (about a foot in from the bumper) i have a rubber hanger seems to hold then pretty good

i got this and welded the tab to the tailpipe

something like this would work and you can put it on your self pretty easy

Yeah, I have found some stiffer hangers. They are urethane hangers and are meant to be for the Subaru WRX/STi's but it should work because theyre pretty much universal. Found them from Cobb Tuning.

I have a feeling that the exhaust may still sway a little bit due to the amount of tailpipe that extends from that last hanger. Annoying.

And about the welding on the stainless, I agree.

My Magnaflow was a little wobbly until i threw a few tack welds on all the joints. Stiff as a board now up to the Y.
Aint nothing I can't grind off within a few min to remove a pipe.

You could always take it by a welding shop and let them do it.
