What year do you have?
On mine(2008) the multifunction switch is held on by a few screws and is just underneath the solumn molding. The wheel doesn't need to come off. If it's your multifunction switch which controls your wiperblades as well, then it's an easy replacement as far as I'm aware of.

06 will be the same as my '08. I think you have nothing serious to worry about. A few Torx screws to get the column covers off and then a few more for the switch.

Found this for ya. Piece of pie man.

the exact same thing happens to my 06 qc 1500 but only every once and a while. Let us know how it went? And if you dont mind me asking how much did the switch cost?

Just two weeks ago I had mine replaced on my '06 QC and yes the steering wheel had to be pulled. I ended up taking it to the dealer and it cost me a total of $157.00, $77.00 for the part and $80.00 labor. The switch actually wraps around the steering column to tie in with the hazard switch on the top of the steering column.
