leveling a 2005 4.7
I would like to level my 2005 4.7L. I have heard some pros and cons but wanted to talk to some people who would really know. It needs to go up about 2" and im looking to find out the best way to achieve this.
Thank You,
Thank You,
That is a good first question. 4x4 or 4x2. If its a 4x2, you have a couple options... the first question you want to ask yourself though is how do you want to do it. You can purchase Extended coil springs, Coil Springs Spacers, I've seen some chit heads do just shocks and fail miserably,or a combination. I personally recommend the coil spacers and new shocks method. Fat bob's Garage.com runs a bundle for I believe 04's and up Leveling kits. its about 150 bones which is not to bad. It is rated at 2.5". What is really cool is that they give you Coil springs spacers and New shocks that are 2" longer then stock to compensate. You can also upgrade the shocks to that are nitrogen filled in the package for only like $12 extra. Anyways... I did a review on it a couple months back

Over all I was extremely pleased. Did not loose any ride quality and now my truck sits perfectly level. No matter which way you go as far as brand and everything goes, just make sure that if you go anything larger then 1.5" of lift in the front, replace the front shocks. They will bottom out every time you hit a bump if you don't. Also, GET AN ALIGNMENT DONE RIGHT AFTER YOU INSTALL THE KIT!!!!Wither it be a 4x4 or 4x2, this is the most important part of the entire install. Other then that, Enjoy the truck!

Sorry guys its a 4X4 quad cab. Im not sure how I would level it due to the fact that im not sure how many different ways there are. I have had 33's on the truck before and would like to go back to them but just level it out for looks.
I think they are pretty much cranked all the way. But ill check the DIY thanks.
