Exclamation Best Way to lift a 2wd? Here it is....

Well leveling/lifting a 2wd is usually as cheap as getting a $100 spacer and putting it on top of your coil spring. The ride is reduced, handling goes downhill, and you might need new shocks and ALWAYS an alignment. Ends up costing somewhere around $200 if you get low mid grade shocks.

The answer for the super common question of WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO LIFT MY (02-08) 2wd is spindles. They drop your hub therefore raising your front end, without reducing ride, you dont need new shocks, and you even have a cheap fix for brake lines.

You ask, will I need new brake lines for the spindles since the wheel is lower? Luckily dodge made it to where the metal bend in the end of the brake line is about 2 1/2-3in long. You can switch the R to L and L to R and it will fit the brake line issue for FREE

Okay, well I finally emailed Chassis Tech. The eBay guy and Airbagit kinda gave the runaround, saying they are working on it and this and that. Well I got a good email address for a guy from Chassis Tech and maybe something will get done.

Im sorry to be posting this without a definitive answer, but Monday morning a guy will supposedly be emailing me from the casting dept . with an update and answers to my questions. So it looks like we might end up getting this issue worked out with a GUARANTEED FIT for our trucks.

And mods, I talked to the in charge guy about sponsoring here. Hopefully he will be chiming in sometime and might be a new sponsor depending on how this works out. If this ends up going well and they fit right, I think we should make a sticky about it due to the HIGH traffic on leveling/lifting a 2wd.

Response:
Matt, as you know, we have lift spindles for the 02-08 Rams. We don't sell a huge number of these spindles, and rarely have had anybody let us know that there were problems installing them. We handle every single issue that is brought to our attention.

We have fixed the sway bar issue already by milling the excess material away on the backside of the spindle, creating more room for the sway bar. As far as I know we have not had any further issues but if there are let me know.

As for the ABS, please educate me here. We have a stock spindle and a non-abs hub that we test fit all of our spindles with. The stock spindle does not have a provision for the abs sensor to pass through. Rather it passes through a slot in the brake's dust shield and bolts to the wheel bearing assembly.

If you can provide me with some pictures, or a forun thread that shows and discusses the issue I would appreciate it.

Thank You

Aaron

So I read the other thread where this came up as well, and I would also like to know, exactly, what the ABS "issue" is? I already purchased the 2nd gen rear lowering shackles, and I have the cash set aside for the front spindles, coil spacer and shocks. What is preventing us (presumably on 06-08?) from using the current lift spindles?

Any word from your boy Matt? I'd really like to install the coil spacers and the spindles at the same time so I only have to align once.

I sent him something back and he didnt reply. I dunno. I might order them at the end of the month when I have a little time and if they dont fit Ill "work" with them to figure out the issue. Just wait a little bit lol. You are getting 2" spacers huh?

I should have an update for the group tomorrow night. I'm dropping my truck off tomorrow after work to get these "pre milled" spindles and blocks installed in addition to my McBay 2" coil spacers. From the way it looks so far is I will be removing my sway bar to get it to work. Still have my fingers crossed, but the shop that is putting them on has some talented folks so I'm sure they can get it done some how. I will make sure and post pics and some details as to what they had to do to get it to work.
