Default Bad wheel bearing?

in the past few days i have been hearing a high pitched grinding sound from the right rear of my truck it does it once in awhile for short periods of time. it is a different noise than the rearend. could it be my wheel bearing? i hope not but can not think of what else it would be? i recently did new u-joints but greased them well. what do u guys think? thanks mike

Either an axle bearing or carrier bearing in the rearend.

Sounds like pinion bearing, but I'd drop the diff cover pronto and look for broken clips

My first guess would be the center carrier bearing for your driveshaft. Go grab and try to see if any or how much movement there is.
Maybe the noise changed with diff weights in the bed???

I replaced both front wheel bearings in December. At first I thought that it was in the Diff too. But the problem ended up being in the front end.

it generally makes more noise with more weight. in regular driving it comes and goes only does it once in awhile. thanks mike

Just had my left front hub replaced yesterday. They have both now failed in 45k miles. 2wd and hwy miles. ( same hub/bearing as a 4x4)

Sounded like my rearend too but i could barely feel it in the steering wheel.
