Default Backup alarm!!!!!!!!!!!

I just bought a ecco backup alarm yesterday and i am planning on installing it tomorrow! I would like to have it on a switch so late night i wont have to wake all of my neighbors! i know i need to connect the power to the reverse power wire and the ground to a solid ground point, but im a little stumped when it comes to installing the switch. IS the power from the switch coming right off of the reverse power wire and then just running a ground? or do i need to run the power from the reverse power to one post on the switch and them the other post for the power wire from the backup alarm? Im completely lost!!!

Just use the switch to interrupt the signal. Take the power from the backup lights to the switch, then on to the alarm (leave the alarm grounded). Switch off: no alarm. Switch on: alarm. It probably doesn't need a relay. Don't forget the fuse.

I'm a union laborer and I am constantly on job sites where it is a major part of my safety! Laborers are killed each year from trucks backing over them, from not having a backup alarm or just being careless!

That sucks. It would seem hard to get hit by a truck in reverse at 3mph.

Im sure the alarm will keep everyone on their heels when you are in reverse

You`d be surprised at how hectic a job site can get and you don`t realize that a truck is moving.

Default Night alarm

ECCO makes a specialized alarm that has a double reverse disengage feature that deactivates the alarm. Its a model 520-004 is ECCO's part number. You wire it just as you would any alarm but this model has something extra built inside that when you go something like a reverse neutral reverse fairly quickly the alarm will not sound until you go into reverse again.

The easiest way is to use the Alarm ECCO makes that is designed with an internal switch to do what you want. Its there model 520-004 night alarm. The way it works is you do a double reverse, so something like reverse neutral reverse and the alarm is disengaged until you hit reverse again. Hope this helps
