2006 dodge ram 1500 TailLight issue
I have a 2006 dodge ram 1500 sport and my driving light for my back right tail light does not work. everything else works signal brake light back up light, its just the normal running light that does not come on. can anyone share some info on this problem
Thanks
Thanks
the running light is a dual filament bulb I think. It is on 07 at least. Try the bulb from the working side. If that doesnt work, see if you have any power getting the socket with a voltmeter.
If that doesnt do it, hope you arnt having TIPM issues. Light issues where most are working and one isnt unexplainably have been attributed to the TIPM. $1,100

I have tried other bulbs still nothing have to check see if there is power getting there. I know it does when I use the brake and signal but that TIPM what does that compose of in lay man terms beside I'm going to get rapped
in your 06, instead of having a ton of fuses it has a single power module that distributes power across your truck. It is supposed to sense a short and block that off, then give you a message. I dont think it end s up working so well
Same trouble on driver's side. Swapped tail light bulb holder assy's drvr to passngr, same result. Dodge parts man mentioned the 1100 electronic power module. Didn't like that answer, but, for 1100, I may be driving with a stick on bulb after dark.
The issue may be the grey colored plastic bulb holder that the bulbs plug into. That block screws to the tail light housing and then the wire harness plugs into that. You said you swapped it from the left side to the right side and have the same problem? Sure sounds to me like that is your issue.
It's not an expensive fix. If i recall that part is around $30.00. And you already know how to install it. But instead of screwing around moving bulbs from each side, by a pack of new bulbs and eliminate that issue as well. It's around $5.00 for a pair of bulbs.

Thanks for the thought and info, and my apologies for not being clear.
When I mentioned I had the same result. I intended to indicate. Regardless of which "Bulb Mounting", was on either side, the same light is always non-operational.
Specifically... Three (3) bulbs in each mounting. With either of the fixtures placed in the drivers side position and connected properly.
The tail light is always out on the drivers side. Both mounting's always work on passenger side, all three bulbs. Drivers side, tail light fails.
I surely wish it was different, 1100 bucks plus, does not a happy feeling make for a "Non-Burnt" Bulb.
