Default Lights for cruise controls on steering wheel

I bought my 2007 3500 Ram used. The back lights on the steering wheel for the cruise control switches have never worked.

I would think that there are back lights for the switches? It does not make sense that there would not be back lights on the switches because I can not see the switches at night and have to fumble with locating the one that I need.

I've searched this forum and the internet and I can not find a discussion about this.
I checked every fuse with a multimeter and all are good.
A faulty harness is what comes to mind. Possibly all of the bulbs are blown but it would be hard for me to believe that "All" of the bulbs would be burned.

Any insight to this problem would be helpful.

Thanks for the answer. I was thinking along those lines too. Now why doesn't that surprise me?
No wonder that I can't find any topics about this.

Yep, no lights. You get a feel for the buttons after awhile. I don't even have to look at mine anymore.

I have it down so that I don't even have to look at them anymore either, but my 2000 F150 had lights on the CC buttons. Come on now! quite possibly one of the only gripes I have about the interior on my 08.

I thought the same thing when I bought my truck. My F150, Ranger, Civics, Focus, and Accords all had backlighting for the cruise, so I thought for sure that something was broke on my truck!
