Default Vibration on the highway

Ive been getting a vibration on the highway around 60mph that feels like its coming from the rear. I only picked up this truck about a month ago and its still under warranty so I brought it back on Monday to have them check it out. I left it there and they called me and said that they think there is a bad tire so they were gonna rotate them and try to figure out which one was bad. That was unsucessfull because after they rotated them there was still a vibration at the rear. They told me that they think it might have a bad shock so they were going to replace the rear shocks and that they would have them in today(Wednesday). Im no mechanic but to me I dont see a slight vibration coming from a shock. What else could it be?

At least they left me with decent loaner, I told them keep it till its fixed.

If it has the OEM Goodyear tires, it could have more than one bad one. There have been many complaints about them breaking belts and such. I guess I have been lucky since mine have been good so far.
They might try balancing all 4 tires and if that doesn't work, check the u-joints in the driveshaft and pull the rearend cover and look for shrapnel in there from failing LS clutch clips.

The oem shocks are weak. I replaced mine with Bilsteins as soon as my 3yr/36k bumper to bumper warranty ran out

How many miles are on the truck?

Take a good look at the driveshaft, especially if you have an aluminium shaft.

Yeah, a bad tire or one slightly out of balance and a bad or weak shock would certainly pick up the tire issues and amplify it. But also a warped rim or bent axle as well.

The truck has 35k on it. I was more leaning to the axle or driveshaft problems as well. The shocks if they want to replacem them as well is fine by me.

They called me again this evening for an update. They replaced the shocks and it still has a vibration (surprise). They asked me again if I mind keeping the truck there so they can replace the U-joints too. I figure they can keep replacing parts at their cost and not mine. By the time they are done I will have a rebuilt truck. They always make sure to ask me if I am still ok driving this loaner. You think if I wasnt they would get me another? Kidding..

09 Cherokee Overland. I'm kinda getting spoiled with all the options. I never knew a vehicle could have so much.

Warpage and/or twisting. Also make sure there isn't a spot where a weight used to be.

Nice loaner!!
