Default Brake problem???...advice needed

2002 Extended Cab 1/2 Ton Dodge Pickup Truck
My Mother asked that I drive her truck today because she had noticed a new sound. When going around a right curve there is a slight knocking sound that I believe is coming from the front. It doesn't do it going to the left. I already know that we have a brake issue because when you try to make a hard stop, it bounces, pulsates, as if maybe a rotor is warped. I am just wondering if my thinking is correct in that the pads are so bad, that they are possibly the problem causing the new sound? I have not taken off the tire yet to check this, and also understand that not everything can not be diagnosed over the internet, but wanted to ask. Is there something else I should check while I have the tire off to check the pads? Thank you for looking. Gas

It is possible that it is the brakes, but I would look into the front hub bearing.

Grab ahold and try to move the cv shafts and tierods too. Look to see if the rotor dust cover is coming in contact with the rotor?

Ball Joints. maybe hub bearing as lxman mentioned.
I've also seen frozen shocks on those truck, try opening the door, use it as a lever, and Bounce it up and down.

I thought my knocking was my brakes too, the very day I was going 50 miles to change them at work, my hub bearing blew out and bent my caliper mount.

Be sure and double check the bearing and suspension while your down there.

Yeah....there's just too much stuff near the wheel that could potentially be your problem for an internet solution.
Heck I had a slight knocking sound on the front and I mean a slight knock and it turned out to be an outter tie rod end that had just about fell off!!! When I spotted this....I nearly Fell over!!!!
Really go over everything you see on the front end to try and make a definitive diagnosis. If you can't do this, a trip to a good and trusted mechanic is the way to go. A 6000Lb QC isn't a thing to be having any kinds of problems in the brake/suspension department. You need a correct answer to this or it's potentially unsafe!
