Yeah, this thread isn't meant to be a pissing contest.. All this "If it doesn't have 'enter option here', it's worthless." and "If it does have 'enter option here' and the driver doesn't need it, they're stupid for spending so much money on it." is good 'ol fashion BS.. About knee-deep, from the looks of it... It's a matter of preference of the buyer.. You're not driving it and you're not making the payments so guess what.. You're opinion of the truck and/or the driver is worth less than the breath you take to express it.. Ok? Ok, let's move on...
As far as Florida goes, you're in Florida.. It's not like you're rolling up mountains or thru the Everglades, charting territory or hunting Bigfoot.. Most of the roads down there are paved, if I'm not mistaken? About the only reason I can think of where you'd need a 4x4 is if you get run over by one of those hurricanes and have an express need to make your own road.. If all you're gonna do is tow, on pavement, Dodge has some pretty impressive tow packages for the 4x2's..
If this is more about "New" vs "Slightly Used", don't go new just for the sake of "no problems".. New cars/trucks have their share of problems too.. They're usually noticed during the 'burn-in' period.. Maybe a loose bolt or rattling dashboard.. A fluid leak from an improperly seated gasket or pinched hose.. All cars/trucks have their share of gremlins, regardless of how new or used they are.. Both the trucks you mentioned are still well within the 3/36 warranty so it all boils down to your preference and your financial situation..
You may end up having to go to the man on the mountain top to get unbiased advice.. Doh, you'd need a 4x4 to get there though.. LOL

Get the 2x4. Sure the Ram 4x4 would be good offroad and the snow, but you live in FL! There hasn't been a real snow there in like forever. Definately get the loaded 2x4 and good luck!
