Default Tires for 1500 Quad Cab

I'm new to this forum. I'm getting an `03 1500 Quad cab and it comes stock with 245 17r70 I believe. What is the largest tire I can run without doing a lift?

Thanks

You can search and find a lot more info on this, but to answer your question, the largest you can go is 305. That is what I have so I am speaking from experience. IF you crank the torsion bars, or in some other way level out the front end, there have been people who say you can go to 315's.

Or if you want it in Flotation sizes, which is what alot of AT and MT tires come in, it will fit a 33x12.50-17 with no rubbing and no cranking, on 4.5" backspaced rims. Just put this size on my 04' QC 4x4, no problems at all.

Hey Wulf, do you have a full pic of your truck with the MTR's? This is what I want to go with and would like to see what it looks like before I do it...

I do have a couple pics lawdogdusty, but it will be a few days before I have time to sit down and post them, I only have time to check my email and glance at the boards for a few minutes right now, as my wife is in the hospital with our first baby after a 48 hour long labor followed by a c-section.

Will get a few pics up for ya when I have a few minutes.

Edit: NM, it was really quick and easy to attach a file, sorry about the dirty truck and small pics, I will get better ones to put up when I get some time.

Hey Wingman, is your truck 2wd or 4wd? If it is 2wd I know that 285/75/17 are okay. My buddy has them and he has no issues whatsoever.

Dude Wulf, I like the way those rims and tires look. How much did you pay for the set and do you know if a V6 would pull it off, or is the engine to weak to move that size of tire? Thanks, I am new at trucks and just bought my first one.

did your 305 width fit on your stock rims and not rub the A arm, I didn't know about the backspacing.
