rev limiter

Default rev limiter

is there a way to bypass the rev limiter and the gov on the trucks with out getting a chip or is it worth getting a chip just for that and what else do they really do

Not a chip but a programmer will be a very worth while investment.
There is a key cycle trick that bypasses the governor while going WOT but i don't recommend it for safety reasons and not sure if it works on all 3rd or 4G's model years.

No, you need a programmer to do that. Why would you need to override the rev limiter? It is quite generous and unless you have a larger cam, you won't make enough power at the limit rpm to even need to raise it. The speed limiter I can understand. I think the default mph on my Predator is 155mph. Also, my truck is fastest when my 1-2 shift is at 5800.

Thw main reason why I want to know is
I want to be able to rev in park longer and for better 1\4 mile times

Transmissions must have gotten way cheaper. Sounds like someone needs some drag racing training.

He's gotta be pullin' our leg. Surely no one thinks a wrecked transmission and a lot of tire smoke can produce good times at the track.

no its mainly for the noise i have taken it to the track but i have a race car for that to me the blow by just dont sound right

Well as said, you need a tuner. And with an 08 you should be looking at a Superchips 3865
