Default Accessing spare tire on lifted ram help

I have been searching this site for 2 hours and cant find a thing about my situation. My problem is that the tube that is supposed to line up with the access hole just above the license plate to lift/lower the spare tire, no longer lines up because of my lift kit. I have a 2005 dodge ram 4x4 dual cab. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Weird. I would think it all would all go up together. The winch is secured under the bed and the cross-piece under the tailgate should not have moved. Any pics?

Im not a big automotive guy recently bought the truck do not know much about lift kits so im kind of lost, i was thinking either cut the access tube shorter so i can insert from beneath, or remove the bumper

Would a body lift have caused this?

Possibly, cause if the little winch for the tire is tied into a cross member on the frame and you realigned the bumper with the body then that is what would cause this issue. So if you have a body lift on your truck then that is your problem. Good luck solving it!

+1 You've raised the body in relation to the frame, so the tube to the winch no longer lines up with the hole in the body. The bumper has no relevance, but the body lift has misaligned the winch system. You might be able to stress the tube up enough to winch the tire down one more time so you can carry it in the bed. Good luck.

my body lift came with three 3in tubes that fit over three 3in longer screws that raised the spare tire winch. I had to lower it the other day.

You could fab up pivot knuckle like is used on steering linkage, or something along those lines, It would suck having to carry the tire in the bed ALL THE TIME.

You may not wanna do this but the easiest thing to do would be drill a hole that lines up with the tube so you can access it you might have to take off the bumper
