Just the obvious stuff, no rad, no clutch fan, no intake, no manifolds or headers, pull the hood, watch lines and wires as you go in, ECT

I can't crank the motor to remove the last 2 flexplate/flywheel bolts. I didn't think the engine was completely seized. I did pull one head and the pistons are now corroded to the cylinder walls due blown head gasket and it sitting like this for 6 months.

Is there a way to turn the flexplate easily? I read to turn harmonic balance but I can't budge it.

Do I have to pull the engine and tranny together or can I slide the Torque Converter out with the engine? I found this post but it is pretty vague:

Soak the cylinders with penetrating oil for a few days. Then go buy a bag of ice and dump it in the cylinders and let it set for 20 min or so. Throw a breaker bar on the Harmonic Balancer and bump it. We used to do this on old tractors and had decent luck with it. It also helps if you can take a torch to the outside of the block, then dump the ice. Good luck.

Default Replace or Rebuild.

I'm new to this forum & not sure where write this lol
I have an 04 Dodge Ram 5.7 still has lots of power at 215k however I believe I have rod bearing making some racket. I've heard you can replace rod bringings through the oil pain. Is this true & should I replace the rod bearings or just tear it down and rebuild the whole thing. Truck Is in excellent cond & well worth whatever needs to be done

Wouldn't hurt to pull the pan, and check the rod bearings, and crank journals....... if the journals are still within spec, might be able to get away with just installing new bearings. If not.... rebuild, or replace it.
