Did you have some one flush it for you? If you unhook the lines and do it yourself you aren't flushing anything. You are using the trans normal fluid path to replace the old fluid, not forcing it in a direction it wasn't ment to go and forcing gunk into other areas.

I used the same method as in that thread I posted earlier. Disconnect one of the lines and see if fluid comes out when you start the truck. I want to say it was the top line, but hell I can't even remember what I had to eat for breakfast 8 hours ago. You can tell when all the old fluid is out cause it will look like new fluid.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsdPAadc9fY Here is a video on a car, but the same basic info on the truck. Don't pay attention to the drain plug and all the other crap. Just watch the flushing part. You will need a 3/8 disconnect tool to remove the line. You can get it at any parts store. Don't ever let your fluid run to low.

My point is even doing it your self you are still doing a flush and people are having problems with the converter draining out after sitting for a period of time some people have found that there are bad batches of filters and there is also a o ring that you have to put in place first before you put on the filter
