for the shade tree or driveway do it yourselfer its hard to beat either a haynes or chilton manual - they have pictures lol.

i agree with the iat sensor getting fouled the symtoms would be exactly what yours are.
Yeah, either a Chilton or Haynes would be a good pick up. You can get them at almost any auto parts store.

As far as Pep Boys goes, they have MORE consumer complaints against them than all other chain type auto repair facilities combined. I personally know two different people who had their engines blow after a simple oil change because they either didn't put the plug back in or didn't bother to fill it with oil.
Start here and just read some of the horror stories. Makes for good reading. A Google search will yield literally thousands more:

Heh, once I read the post about the discrepancy in the throttle body cleaning, I ran to the auto parts store and I have just picked up the haynes manual for my car for 24 bucks. Thanks for suggesting it, and I will give this a full read. Now I think I should get my money back from somebody. Pomoco said it was really dirty when they had it, this was after pepboys, with this on the list of things paid for. I don't even know where this part is yet so I was unable to verify if it got cleaned. This will all change very soon. I am in to computers and am able to fix them. I'm honest and do what I said I'd do to fix them. This makes me not trust mechanics a lot.

throttle body: where air enters the intake manifold. Follow the tube from the air filter to the plastic "hemi hat", it's right behind that. You need to remove that plastic resonator to see it.

The "plate" is a flapper type door. It gets REALLY bad in a 1500 because the EGR dumps unburnt fuel right behind it gumming up the back of the plate REAL bad. On an EGR truck I recommend cleaning it every 15,000 miles, on a non-EGR every 30,000 miles...

Here's you a good thread showing it both dirty and clean - you'll see how it's UNMISTAKABLE to tell dirty one from clean one...

Haha, I got a chuckle out of those horror stories. Looks like I will never let them under my hood again, even for an oil change.

So should I wait until this gets fixed to contact Pepboys or should I call them now and let them know I still have this problem? I called them when I left about a week ago telling them the problem is not fixed, but should I keep letting them know or just wait?? On there sheet they gave me the second time it says "relearn PCM and test drove to relearn ensor perameters. No problems noted after procedures". That is a lie, pomoco also "relearned pcm" and it didn't fix the problem. Problem is bigger than just relearning idles and as you guys said, something must have gotten damaged.

Also, whats the possibility of bad gas causing this problem??

Codeblox-----I believe Weedahoe has a Factory Service Manual (FSM) for your truck, a neat $100 value if you buy it, that you can download for free

It is basically the bible to your truck, but it does assume mechanical knowlede too.
Between the FSM and being able to ask the question here, there's nearly nothing on your truck you couldn't do----other than a lack of tools

You might want to check to see if the TB is properly snugged down to the manifold, also make sure the sensor wires are connected properly, and all the hoses are reconnected----make sure some BONEHEAD didn't leave a shop towel in your intake somewhere-------"this could never happen"----right!!!!
Check the simple stuff first---then dig in from there

Don't get me started on Pep Boys Next mailer you get copy this and mail it back to them. By "relearn" you mean they relearned the ETC ?

DISCUSSION:
Chrysler Group vehicle fluid systems do NOT require regular flushing. These systems
include: engine oil, transmission oil, axle lube, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and
refrigerant. The only exception to this requirement are published in the vehicle
maintenance schedules, e.g. engine coolant.

Exceptions to this recommendation include only those instances where a failure has
occurred and/or the system has become compromised, contaminated or overheated
beyond the normal operating range.

Chrysler Group does NOT recommend aftermarket chemicals to flush the engine,
transmission, brake or steering systems. Chemicals contained in these products can
damage the system elastomeric components, and contaminate the component fluid,
leading to loss of system/component durability and service life. When necessary, only the original approved system fluid should be used to flush these components using
approved equipment.

I would like to add that since I got the car back from pepboys, I can hear a thumping noise somewhere under the car. It's really hard to determine where it's coming from but this also was not happening before I got the car back. Based on the services performed (mentioned in my second post) what could be causing this noise? It's like somethings loose and just dangling along tapping something else under the hood.

Probably left one of their idiot mechanics under the hood!! Their brand of tires are known to often break belts too.
My niece lost an engine in her Cougar because they installed a oil pressure switch and cracked it during the install. After about a month it blew out and by the time that the check gauges light came on, it had pumped all of the oil on the ground and ruined the heads where the cams ride (4.6L SOHC).
I can't think of anything that should be making noise with services that you received, but I would have it checked asap!!

Default deleting the EGR on 06 hemi 1500

Today i just fitted a metal plate between the EGR valve and the pipe instead of the gasket and blocked it , till now everything is normal no check engine light , slight improvement in throttle response

I dropped this car off at the dealer this morning roughly 8 hours ago and still there has been no call regarding this issue... I'm hoping they don't do the same thing telling me they have no clue. I did ask about the thumping noise and was told by them that this is expected after the vehicle is "worn in". Not sure how much I believe that. He said there were about 30 little rubber things around my front tires and one of them was causing it. I forget what they were called.
