Default 2003 ram 5.9 Gas Ticking on Start Up!

Trying to figure out how to use this but i have a 2003 dodge ram 1500 4x4 5.9 gas just bought it yesterday, no noise drove perfectly then. Now ticking on start up almost every time i start it and at high rpms ticks for a couple of seconds. Im not too sure whats going on but it does have high miles 143000 so maybe vaulves springs lifters timing chain?

Sounds like a sticky lifter. I would start by testing the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge to see what kind of pressure you actually have.

What weight oil? A dose of Sea Foam may provide some benefit. Could be the timing chain, but many other things are higher on the list.

I am going to test oil pressure this weekend with a mechanical gauge and it has a mobile 1 sticker in the top left winshield with 3000 miles untill the next oil change. I also want to add that today I floored it and one lifter clicked loudly and the motor hesitated at the same time.

Sorry it took so long to get back at yall. I recently changed my plenum gasket, and still have the problem i narrowed it down to a main rod bearing on one of the pistons. At accel its fine when its not under a load it ticks horribly.
