Front tow hooks
I have a 03 Ram 1500 4X4. I have been looking for front tow hooks to attach to the front chassis. Is it even possible to attach hooks? The ones that i have foiund all say for 2500 and up. Any one know where to find them or a good website? Thanks mike
They were an option on the 1500, so they have to be out there somewhere.
They show discontinued on the Mopar website.
They show some for a 08 1500, but they do not look the same and they list for $379!!

Click on OEM parts and then bumper fascia.

ok so i did a little more research and i came up with this part # 82207916. Dealer has them for $115.00. I guess it's a bar that goes across the front that has 2 tow hooks already attatched rather then installing 1 on each side. if that makes sense. Thanks for the reply's guys. : )
If you are actually going to use the hooks isntead of just for looks a front mount reciever may be more usefull. You could put a d-ring in it for pulling or in the future a hitch mounted winch. The ability to move a winch to either end of your truck could come in handy.
I wouldn't be using them much. I just want something to hook to if I get stuck in the sand when I go to the dunes or to pull someone out. Its more of a just incase. They say they can handle 5500 lbs.

I have no experience with factory hooks except for watching the factory ford hooks bend, but i always make sure any pulling components(chain, straps, hooks, etc)are rated for at least 1.5x or preferrably 2x the weight of my truck. May be a little overkill in some instances buy ive seen what happens when they fail and im sure most guys would agree here that its not pretty.
I have the tow hooks on my truck and whenever I needed to pull someone or something like a tree out of the ground, I stuck a shackle bracket into my rear receiver and took off. I don't trust the front hooks at all. I have felt mine deflect when I stood on them. I would rather have a closed loop when pulling.
