Default Towing capacity

I own a 2008 1500 Ram Laramie quad cab. I would like to know exactly what my maximum towing capacity is. It has the 5.7 Hemi 3.92 rear axle ratio, corporate 9.25 LD rear axle and 20" rims. Thanks for your help.

Every time I look, Dodge changes the specs and every damn site has a different number, but the book I get my info from states capacity at 9100 for a QC 4x2 with Hemi and 3.92 gears and 17" wheels, subtract 1000# for the 20" wheels leaves you at 8100 lbs...

Yeah I keep getting different numbers too. @hammerz71 Does having a 4x4 make a difference?

Yes, that lowers the towing capacity by a couple of hundred pounds.

Yep, it's strictly a GVWR thing, a 4x4 weighs more than a 4x2 of the same model/engine/body type truck...
