Default 08 taillights fit 06 ?

I like the style of the 08 big horn tail lights.
Will they bolt onto my 2006 1500 SLT
short bed?

I think that the assembly will fit just fine, but the connector plugs may be different...
It has been asked and answered a while back but since I have an 02 I didn't pay very close attention to it. Or maybe it was 05 to 06 that had the plug connectors changed.

these two threads mention it. It doesn't look like an easy task, but I had to use a 3 lamp to 2 lamp converter thing from the u-haul store to get my trailer lights to work properly. maybe that same device would also work in this situation.

Going from a 3 bulb set-up to a 2 bulb set-up will require some wiring changes since the turn signals and brake lights use separate bulbs in the 06.
