Those are pretty slick. I think my local Tractor Supply has those.
Thanks PireFyro, this is a nice little upgrade to avoid crawling under the truck on a cold snowy day.

That probably would work better. I didn't see any at lowe's though.

Thank you for the fix. I just found mine missing at deer camp trying to put it in 4WD. I crawled under the truck to find part of a plastic bushing on the shifter arm. I was not looking forward to going to the dealership. This will be a much better fix.

Default Almost one year later...

Good news for anybody who has tried this fix. Mine has no rust on it after almost one year of installation, no issues with the aluminum threads being smoothed over by the steel bolts, and all places where the bolts could've moved have not. I may upload a picture of it when a year does pass, but no real need since it still looks the same. If any of you tried this, I hope it helped you out.

Worked great, very easy to do, went on without a hitch. Lowe's sold out of the 5/8 SAE washers. Who would have thought that they would end up being so hard to find. I went to Home Depot and Tractor Supply, and nothing. I used the 16m metric washers. They seemed to be the same size OD and fit over the spacer.

Even if it rusts, it's only going to get tighter. Once the assembly is complete and adjusted, you should never have to mess with it again. The other fittings you suggest are probably not long enough.

Great write up. Thanks for the idea. Everything worked good for me. Only thing is noticed the turnbuckle can move freely right now though so I'll have to go back and get jam nuts.
