Red face Headers for 2005 2wd 1500 reg cab hemi

I posted a thread on exhuast choices as well. But I am also looking to get headers. Do you necessarily need the same brand headers and exhaust to go together ? I ask this because I sort of leab towards Gibson exhaust which makes matchign headers. However I can not find flowmaster headers to match there exhuast system.

So what works best, and why ?

Thanks,

Matt

I've got Pacesetter Longtubes on my 4x4 HEMI. Never could tell the difference in sound compared to stock, because I immediately did a custom true dual exhaust. Right now though my truck is heard from a mile away. If you're looking for some custom sound and performance, I'd go with these LT's.

Well I know sound will change but there has to be more to it then sound. I want to pass inspection as well and I heard LT Headers can affect your emissions output. I am just wanting one that does a great job at getting the exhaust fumes out and increasing performance.

I think it depends on how much $$ you want to spend..?? I'm sure you can by a complete bolt up exhaust system from headers to exhaust tips, which will cost an arm and leg. I've always had a buddy at an exhaust shop run all my exhaust. stop by a few exhaust shops and ask them how much and how they normally run the exhaust on these truck for their customers? Your catalytic converts are what passes emissions. edit: sorry, missed the part you said about emissions. That's what I get for posting from cell phone. Grrr... well, emissions and performance..... can't have your cake and eat it too.

^^Exactly. The only thing stopping my flow are my cats and an 8 inch glasspack on each pipe. My emissions are fine on the side exit with LT and no real mufflers.

How are you able to use LT with your cat still on ? I called pacesetter and they said you cant do LT from them with cats. Also what are your thoughts, and everyone else on GIBSONS log header. I called gibson and talked to a rep, and they said although shorty might due a little more this log headers was made to give power on low end. And I like it due to the fact its great quality (stainless with ceramic). I also called BBK and they admitted that "ALL" there headers coated or not only used aluminzed steel. And the fact is the only shortys besides the GIBSON LOG are JBA, EDELBROCK, and FLOWTECH. So what are some opinions on those brands ?
