Exclamation Need a pepe talk from someone ASAP...

Okay, after our last conversation in that one dude's thread, I decided I'm going to make my homeade CAI. What are all the steps, in doing so? I've seen two threads so far, theyre helpful, but they have pictures of the stock intake, then the completed. I would like to know every step, like taking the stuff off first (hemi hat ect). Will I need brackets for the pvc pipes? In the pic below I have all the gathered items that I read would be needed.

The hemi hat is 4 bolts I think just remove the temp sensor first just twist and pull.As far as the air box goes, it is really easy to get out. You do not need to take the wheel well out, just take the small screws out from the bottom side and you will be able to get your hand behind to loosen up the bolts from the air box. This Write up is as close as your going to get and don't be afraid to deviate slightly where you see fit.

Have fun and good luck!

Step 1: disconnect battery 10mm
2: disconnect IAT sensor (connected to the hemi hat)
3: remove 2 screws from hemi hat (lower left & upper right) 5/16 and remove, take off the orange gasket on the throttle body as well if its still attatched.
4: unscrew hose clamps and remove the rubber 's' hose 5/16 or reg screw driver
5: remove the gas recirc hose from the oil filler neck to the air filter box. Keep one of the hoses for your little breather filter. This will attach on the oil fill nech again( I used the straght one instead of the elbow currently attached there)
6: remove air filter box (unless you feel like modding it to make a true CAI)

To make your new one it's up to you where you run it. The first 90 will attach to the TB. If your rubber coupling doesn't fit over the 90 then cut a 4" piece of straight tubing and glue it into the 90. This will give you a solid piece to connect your coupling on. Dry fit all other pieces to get your angles right before you glue anything. You should have a 90 off the TB and a straight piece out of that. The second 90 will be somewhere near where the old airbox was. Another straight pipe will get you near the fender where the old air inlet was on the stock airbox. You can put your filter here or use another 90 pointed downward to extend the CAI down where it's away from engine heat and attach the filter from underneath. When you've dry fitted and you like how it looks, take a sharpie and mark a spot on the first straight pipe for your IAT sensor. It's best to get it as far away from the TB as possible, but there isn't much wire to work with so it wont be too far. Make sure there is no tension on the wires and you can easily connect and disconnect the sensor. Use a unibit (step bit) and start small. Gradually drill bigger holes until the sensor fits snug. Don't install it in the hole until you've painted your CAI. I used RTV silicone around the hole and sensor to make sure it stayed in place. You probably know, but just turn the sensor counter clockwise a 1/4 turn or whatever and pull it out gentely of the hemi hat. Use a sharpie to make marks on your 90s and straight pipes so you can pull them apart to glue and know exactly where they were. Once its glued, pull it out and paint it. Reattach it to the TB, hook up the sensor and RTV it into place. Attach your filter, and reconnect your battery. If you want to keep the stock airbox you can PM me for more details if you can't figure it out. My profile page has a few pics of mine in there. Good luck.
