Default oil pressure problems

i have a 2004 dodge ram 1500 3.7 and when i start it it runs good with good oil pressure but when you drive it about a mile it loses all oil pressure whats going on?

Try hooking up a mechanical oil gauge to check if the in-dash gauge is working properly

Mine would drop and come back up every now and then at stop lights. Finally replaced the oil pressure sensor

how do you hook a mechanical guage up to it?

Look on the Dodge service manual (you can download it from Weedahoe's signature for your year) it will have info on where the mechanical gauge can be hooked up. If you don't have access to a gauge, I'd just replace the oil pressure sensor first.

found out it was just a bad connection thanks for the suggestions though
