What is the spec of a Ram Sport ?
I'm thinking of buying a 2007 Ram Sport 4x4 Quad Cab. Can you tell me if this is a specific model of truck or just an upgraded version of another model e.g an SLT with different bumpers and a couple of interior upgrades etc ?
I have searched and do know the options available in this truck (leather seats, colour coded bumpers/grille etc) but can't seem to find out where it fits into the Ram lineup. It also has a Lone Star badge on the tailgate ?
I always try and own a top of the line model of vehicle but I don't want to go down the route of an entry level truck with a few added options.
Also, with Sport being part of the name are there any mechanical differences compared to the other Ram models ?
Any help is very much appreciated.

I don't believe there are any mechanical differences, its all badging and aesthetic differences. I'm not sure if its true or not but whenever I hear any sport hemi's they always sound louder/better than my laramie so they may have a different exhaust? I could be wrong though, I'm just going from what I hear and my ears could be playing tricks on me. If you want top of the line, the laramie is the top trim package. Same mechanics as the rest but just more plush, quieter, interior along with chrome, different bumper etc.
If I had a choice I would go with the Laramie but as I'm in the UK I'm limited with the choice of vehicles I have, due to the fact Dodge never officially sold Rams over here. They are very rare so finding the right one is difficult.
This Sport does have heated leather seats, electric windows, sunroof, premium sound system and has the 5.7 Hemi.

As far as I know, the SLT "Sport" package is color matched bumpers, chrome bar grille, 20" wheels, and I think the convenience package that adds in the stereo, seat, leather wrapped steering wheel, and some other stuff. Mine's an '05, so they may have changed the package details slightly, and it's been a while since I bought it. It's all aesthetics, though, I believe.
The "HEMI Sport" is a different package and, again, is mostly aesthetic with decals and such. I think the HEMI Sport package has a different exhaust than the standard SLT.
As far as it being "top of the line"... if you like it and it's a good price, then buy it. YOU are the only one who is going to care that you are driving the most overpriced truck off the lot.

Mine is an 04 with Sport "appearance package". It's just liptstick and rouge stuff. Nothing to do with performance.
