Trans temp increase
I've noticed since i've done some mod's (custom cam, LT Headers, performance heads, etc...) my trans runs a little hotter than usual. About 20-30 degrees. Is this normal? I drove it for about 100 miles the other day and it was fine but i'm just curious.
Yea I can see the trans temp on my interceptor which is how I knew it runs a little hotter than before. It only does it when I'm driving around town it gets up to about 195. When I'm on the highway it stays at around 160. Where can I get a bigger trams cooler?
How many miles on your fluid? As the fluid gets older it won't dissapate the heat as good and it will actually heat up faster because the molcules are producing more friction. This is why old trans fluid becomes burnt smelling.
Maybe a fresh flush is needed? I'm going to make a non-invasive flush procedure for the FAQ section for everyone since this comes up alot.
HERE you go. I'll update it as needed if there are any issues with it.

That does not sound kosher to me, make sure you didn't kink or bend a cooler line or have it against the header. Technically the Trans. does not give a rats *** what the engine is doing, if you're driving it with the same type of loads on it, as before the mods, it should not effect the tranny temps.

When i replaced the headlight the other day i did notice one of the cooler lines looked a bit dirty at the connection to the cooler like its been leaking a bit and a bunch of dirt got stuck to it. maybe thats the culprit. But yea i only have about 15,000 miles on the trans fluid. when i get the chance im gonna check it out more.
