Default plenum gasket...

Hi,
I am just beginning to change the plenum gasket on my 360, and I have reached the point where all is removed. I did unfortunately have 1 bolt break off in the block and need to deal with that. I have attached 3 pics. I have seen some guys engines that are clean and look brand new while doing this repair. Mine however looks tired. 53k miles on my 02'. I purchased the Hughes engine repair vs buying the dodge parts. -- I'm not seeing the attachments, something about over quota. just 3 pics? wt?

Pics need to be small enough to fit them on DF server. You'll have to use a pic hosting site or shrink originals down to fit them. I generally do 30% reduction and can fit 3 at a time.

Default thx

Hi, thanks, I'll look into the photo sizing. On another ram site, I don't need to do that.

Yeah, that looks like poo-poo...

On your broken bolt, I've had tremendous luck using the Grab-Its line of extractors. A set of three is around $20 at Lowe's...

Let me know how it goes man. I have an '02 5.9 as well and the plenum fix is on the to-do list. I am going to get the Hughes Plenum Repair kit also, I have heard good things about it.

I know you guys with 2002's have 3rd gens, but might I suggest you take a look in the 2nd gen section. There is a lot of information about the plenum in the 2nd gen section. It's where I learned how to fix my plenum on my 1999 with a 360.

Thanks, I actually have been looking through the 2nd gen threads lately. Someone suggested it a while ago to me. I found this one very helpful:

Sick truck by the way. As a kid I always loved a lifted 2nd gen like yours

^^^I found that thread to be extremely helpful. At first i was going to pay a shop to install my hughes plate as i had never done anything other than oil changes myself. After reading that thread i felt confident enough to do the plenum fix myself. It took me about 4 days to do it, but I made sure everything was super clean and had to extract a broken bolt.

Thanks for the compliment on my truck.
