Special tool to change shocks?
Then you only need basic tools. Put it up on ramps (leave the suspension loaded), take the top loose first, then remove the bolts holding the bottom. Pull the old shock down and out. Put the new shock in using the reverse procedure.
The "Special Tool" was a 19/32 socket on a 1/4" drive breaker bar to hold the shock shaft while loosening the top bolt with an 18 mm box end wrench. Saved $ 200 bucks on labor (Ripoff) and it took me less than two hours.
