Default 2012 Ram, 800 miles, Is this Rod Knock?

Brand new Dodge Ram. 5.7L.

Ignore the valvetrain noise in this video, that's not what I'm concerned about. But listen to that low, knock.

It happens about 30 seconds after a cold startup, when it starts idling at 600rpm. Putting it in DRIVE the noise goes away, but back in Neutral, it's there again. After driving it, then back in park, the noise is gone.

I'll bring it to the dealer, but just wondering what you guys think.

So.. yours has a knocking sound as well on start up? Or do you just not hear the noise in the video?

I don't know if it's normal. However, my engine sounds the same. My wife even questioned what the knocking was.

I don't hear anything other than a hemi idling - mine has 72K or so on it and has always sounded like that.

Those who say it sounds normal, try and listen again, and tune-out the high valve train noise (ticking, normal I know) and try and listen for the deep, low, knocking sound.

Still sounds normal. What were you driving before this?

I can't hear a knocking in your video, but when I bought my new truck, the salesperson started up a brand new truck with the hemi and it had a bad knock when it was cold, and it went away after a few minutes, but I didn't want to touch that truck with a 10' pole. It had probably been sitting a while w/out being started but it didn't sound right to me.
