Default 2003 4.7 Stumble and dies sometimes on startup and when cold

My buddies 2003 Ram sometimes stumbles after initial start up. I used to have a Raider 4.7 so I knew this was the site to come to. I'm trying to remember, but there is an IAT and Idle control motor on the TB isnt there? I've only whitnessed it once when we were on his farm. He was backing up slowly and it started stumbling and died. It started right back up, and ran for the remainder of the time we needed it. Besides that its a strong running motor.

Can you help me, help him by pointing us in the right direction?

Thanks in advance.

The majority of time simply removing and cleaning of the throttle body will cure the problem. Be sure to remove the IAC sensor and thoroughly clean the tip and the IAC port on the TB. Other than a little time and effort IT'S A FREE FIX!!

Well spend 15 min and $3 dollars to clean the TB and see where that leaves you

Sounds like a TPS sensor to me. I had similar issues on 4.7 Commander and the TPS (throttle position sensor) fixed it.

I used a coupon and the TPS only cost me $25 at Advance Auto. If you hit a parts store, they may have a code reader you can use also.

You can read all the codes on your truck by the "Key Trick".
But that pointless the OP states he/she has no codes.
Rockauto is also a good place to find OEM parts for half the price, dont beleive me go check it out
