If you search on here there is a thread somewhere about where the grounds are at... but worse comes to worse look for black wires from the negative battery lead, and starter... those are the big grounds....

It also sounds like you have a major clockspring problem, so I'd prolly replace that too.
Can i change the clockspring myself? Or does the dealer have to do it.

Well it's really your call there, I'm sure you "can" do it yourself, but I personally do not mess around when it comes to removing and reinstalling my airbag, which is why I'd just pay to have the dealer do it.

Well the Speedo issue might not be related to the clock spring but it is possible I suppose, if they share a ground or power source.

I would attempt swapping with a known working cluster before taking it in for the clock-spring.

Wilson,

If you bought a brand new cluster from the dealer did they install it and program it there as well? If so I would take it back. If it is under 12/12 it should be under warranty. Did you get the cluster to solve the original speedo issue? I agree with the possible ground issue, but you may want to have the dealer take another look, especially regarding a clock spring if thats the direction you are going to go.

I had them order the cluster and they got my bin and mileage and said it would be programmed when it camr from the manufacturer..i put it and and it never fixed anything..as soon as i put it in my abs and brake light came on nd it was never on before so i showed it to them and they said there is a problem somewhere else that it cant be the brand.new cluster..and i gave them my old one so i didnt pay the $550 core charge..im more worried bout the speedo than the cruise bc its not tracking my miles right

Clean it!

Use Water and Baking Soda, and that stuff will come right off
