03 Valve Spring!
#21
So I got the truck back. The shop ended up rebuilding my engine with new pistons, rings, mains, valve train and upgraded springs. The total cost was 7500 out the door, ouch! My heads needed machining as well as the exhaust manifold on that bank. The increase in price from 6k was because the cylinder that dropped the valve split in half, ultimately making my existing block useless. So I lost the core charge on that the rebuild comes with a 40000 km warranty, and so far so good. Anyone got some recommendations for a proper breakin? I plan on changing the oil after 100 miles or so

follow the dealer recommendations..... change oil at 100 miles from standard break-in oil to conventional oil of suggested weight, then at 500 miles change it again... and then at 1000 miles change it to synthetic and you're all broken in.
Glad to hear you're back up and running, and look at it this way... you have a nice new block in there that is a very good thing

03 Hemi Valve Springs
I have a 2003 dodge ram 1500 5.7 with 131,000 Miles on It and I keep reading need to change the valve springs. I don't know where to buy the 6.1 valve springs at. I heard I need 16 Exhaust Springs to replace the 8 stock valve springs and 8 stock exhaust springs. I have no idea how to do it. Is there anybody in the panama city Fl area that can help me change them.. Or with the dealership change them for me? Thank You
