horn stuck on
Acted like i have an alarm; opened the door and jumped in and the horn comes on and stays on! Not honking, just ON. Went under hood and started grabbing for the connection, blinded by the glare of the sun, and after a min. it just stops on its own. What's up with that?? This is just a strippo '06 ST std cab short bed V6 6 speed w no power options or even carpet! Truck is in mint shape. No salt or snow here in So Cal but I do live by the beach. i will pull the connector to look for corrosion.
Any other thoughts and is this an issue with some Rams? Do I have a hidden factory alarm circuit that only needs to have the comp flashed to activate?

well if you live by the beach there is salt... anyways... I would guess it might be the anti-theft system, a short on the horn circuit, or possible a clock spring that is damaged.
Those are just guesses as electrical problems tend to be a little mysterious.

from your signature I am assuming you have a 2006 Ram... which has a programmed key.... well at least it should have one.
Pull the C-Codes (see link in my signature) and see if you have anything electrical going on that the truck has picked up on.
Without you getting your hands dirty we can point out items to check all day long.

Not sure what a programmed key looks like. Key looks the same as my '03 Ram. I did the hold the odo thing and got: 5 11.6 28.1 c 44.7
Did't do anything with the key on-off on-off on-off-on deal...

One time fluke. Any idea where I can check these codes?

TIPM----Totally Integrated Power Module, or somthing like that. It takes the place of all the relays and fuses for controlling all the auxiliary stuff, like the horn, or turn signals, or headlights etc, etc. Its been a really sore spot with a lot of people since 2006 when they introduced it.
