Well I got my build sheet and was surprised. My truck came with the 17" rims so I thought I had the 3.55 gears wrong it came with the 3.92 the only other this is it has the factory LSD does anyone know of any upgraded c clips or something I can do other that changing to a different LSD to keep it from possibly loosing a clip a destroying my rear end

 

Drive the truck and enjoy it! Don't go looking for problems, just do the maintenance and drive it like you care about it. If you beat the hell out of the truck it'll cost you!

 

I'm going on 4 years with the factory "anti-spin diff" and I haven't had any issues. I've always read that if they do break apart just take em out and keep driving

 

You could get 17" wheels with 3.55 gears too.... it should specifically call out which gear set you have in the build sheet.


You can upgrade to an Eaton or Detroit LSD if you have some $ laying around...

 

If I had the money and a competent shop that could do it I would upgrade. I'm surprised dodge didnt do a recall with all the people that have had problems with the stock LSD well they did but it was just for the 09 & 10 but it is the same LSD

 

There are many factors that play into a recall.... basically if the cost of a recall is greater than the cost of paying out lawsuits then they don't do a recall. (That's the simple version so take it at face value.)

My 08 has 66K on it and no Anti-Spin trouble. Front seal leakage, yes, seal replaced 3 times already. The second time because the spring in the original seal fell back into the housing and ruined the bearings causing a vibration over 60mph when the first tech replaced the leaker and didn't notice the missing spring.

Seal #3 is leaking again, It is a small drip and the fluid is still about full, but it has spotted up my new garage floor. I just haven't had time to run by the dealer and get it replaced again. Might be a bad spot on the yoke. Gota love a lifetime powertrain warranty
