Tried swapping in part no 56046038AC from an 07 Durango, as others have done in their 06-08 Rams. Did not work. Checked the connector pin outs for both my truck and the Durango, they are the same. Should work, but does not. It does however work in the 08. Swapped it into a buddies truck, and it worked the first time, without any additional steps, while the truck was running. Anyone have any idea about doing this on an 06?

You might want to post on the thread that this project is posted on, as more useful information might be there...

Have posted there a well, looking got information specific to the 06, as what works for the 08, does not work for the 06. But thanks.

well then your TIPM system may not be compatible... Ask Dodge Cares if that OTIS was even an available option for 2006.. if it wasn't then that is your issue, then you can sell it to me since you beat me to it on Ebay :-P

How do I get a hold of Dodge Cares? I know that the EVIC was an option for 2006, because my brother in law has an 06 2500 CTD that has it. I just don't know what models and part numbers. I guess I'm going to have to persuade him to take down his overhead console and get his part number.

As far as selling the EVIC I bought, it's already been sold and installed.

There were two different options in 2006 as far as I can tell. They are:

O/HEAD CONSOLE W/TRIP COMPUTER/UGDO (CV2)
OVERHEAD CONSOLE W/TRIP COMPUTER (CUS)

The CUS was available on the SLT (DH6H81) trim and the CV2 on the Laramie (DH6P81). I am not sure what other information you need to know.

He needs the part numbers between 2006 and 2008 of the OTIS so he can see if he got the right or wrong one.

There was an EVIC on the 2006 Cummins TD, which is what I want, but I can't find the part number for the life of me.
