HI, I'm all done installing my electric fan in my 05 rem, hemi with A/C. I need to connect one wire to the ac clutch positive wire that activates the clutch. One clutch wire is white, the other is black. Looked at wire diagram in service man, but no info on + or -. Anyone who has done this, which wire is it please?

 

I never hooked mine up to the ac clutch. I figured the fan would come on anyways when it got hot enough. It's been like this for 2 years now with no problems

no need to connect wires to clutch. a/c has a separate fan.

 

That AC clutch wire is not needed it was for vehicles that the ac condenser set in front of the radiator, ours are off to the side with their own electric fan to keep the AC unit at the correct temp for optimum cooling.. So just tape it up and leave it off.. You do not need it.. if you hook it up when you turn your heater on in our trucks it will turn the fan on.. making warm up times extremely long on cold days.. ..

 

Thanks for the replies. Just one problem with the fan. Operates as it should. Up to temp, fan turns on, runs at normal temp. Problem is, when I shut truck off, fan keeps running until temp drops then shuts off. 30 or so seconds later, fan comes on again, slows then off. It does this one more time, all while truck is off and key is in my pocket. Checked wiring 4 times, all exactly the way instructions show. Any ideas?

 

Clutch sensor not needed. The fan runs because you've tapped into a constant hot, not a switched hot. I used a switched hot on mine. The fan CAN'T run with the key off.

 

mine is on a constant hot. I figured it wouldn't hurt it if it came on when the key is off, the radiator must have gotten hot enough to turn it on and it must have needed it

 

Don't want mine to run my battery down. The system is designed to have no active cooling when the motor's off. There is little to no engine cooling in that state, anyway.

 

This is exactly what is going on. Wire it to a switched hot and your problem will disappear
