i would appreciate ur info and feedback.....i am goin to put an 8" lift on my 2007 dodge ram 1500 5.7L 2wd with 22x12 with 35" tires.....i wanted to know how i can figure out the info on my differential and the gears ratio i have.....i wanted to buy 4.56 gears for 9.25" differential and wanted to know if a tune on it would be needed?? thank you
You really only NEED to recalibrate your speedometer for the tire diameter. Re-gearing needs no adjustment.
A tuner would work quite nicely for this (plus a ton of other benefits) or you can go to your dealer and they can recalibrate the speedo using the Star-Scan tool...
Not downing your decision or anything, but I gotta ask.... Why are you lifting a 2wd truck 8"? and why at 8" of lift, only a 35" tire? the stock 275/60/20s measure out to 34.5"
why not lift it 8"?? i mean sure 4x4 are nice but when do u really use it?? if i had a 4X4 i would do the same thing plus i live in south texas and there isnt any hills or anything so i might as well plus im tired of seeing dropped trucks down here so im lifting my truck so it stands out. go big or go home right?? and well i want to put 35" tires so it looks more agressive.

On an 8" lift the 35" tires will look kinda "small"....
yes i know tell me about it lol well the 6" lift im getting is $1,400 and the coil spacers and lift shackles came out to $90 so its kinda good but the the pretty penny is going to the rims and tires lol
