Default Combining lift kits?

Hello, I am new here, but I was hoping to get some help with my 2005 dodge ram 1500 2wd. Can you combine a 2in front coil spacer leveling kit with a 3in suspension lift kit? Or would a body lift be a better choice then the suspension lift kit...I don't know which would be better. Any advice would be great!

Thank you!

how much of a lift are you looking for in total?

5-6"?

If that's the case then you are much better off going with a single complete lift kit that will give you that kind of lift, because if you start mixing and matching your suspension and drive train (axles & driveshaft) geometry will be wayyyyyyyy off and you will start to either break stuff or have a truck that is very hard to control at speeds above about 40mph.

I agree with izero if you want 5" to 6" go with one suspension kit any more than that you would want a suspension and body kit I wouldn't do the level with the suspension kit look around rough country makes a decent price kit but there are Luther companies that make good kits but cost a lot it really depends on your budget and what you are going to do with the truck

My budget is really cheap lol. And I will probably only lift it about 5 inches. I found a lift that is 3in up front and 2in in the back. Its like $100. Then I might add a small body lift later on I think. I just want more ground clearance. I hate the low nose on my truck. So hopefully this helps. I want a total lift of 6in I think. The biggest tire I will put on is a 35. Otherwise it will be too high lol

Do you understand how much a 5" lift is?

That is a lot when you're talking about trucks that are driven on the street.

I think you might want to look at some images, even if you are 6'-6" tall you will be climbing into your truck... lol

I wouldn't use any Ebay kits, if you really want a 5" or higher lift then you will need a complete lift kit that will put your axles/CV joints at an acceptable angle.

You will be spending a minimum of $500 plus installation labor (unless you do it yourself which is quite a lot of work).

Good luck though.

Idk if you'll be able to see this but this is my 2WD 08 with a 6" lift on 34s for reference

4x2s don't have CV axles or any other axles up front for that matter, Izzy.

Although it's still not a great idea to "stack" suspension lifts. In a two wheel drive it'd be more efficient and a hell of a lot cheaper to do a 2" level combined with a 3" body lift...

look around, some lift kits come designed to level your truck. there kind of built in to it. my friend was looking for one for his f150. i believe it was a 4 inch rough country or something and i believe it was a 6 inch upfront and a 4 in the rear.
you may not think about it but everyones right. a 5 inch lift is huge. for comparison, some way or another, park your truck on a sidewalk or maybe a small retaining wall that is about 5 inches tall and try to jump into your truck. your gonna need a running start haha. go with something like 3 inch spacers upfront and a 2 inch block for the rear. that will give you some lift and some level.

Most (if not all) suspension lift kits will level the truck by themselves provided they are a true "kit"...
