help exhaust question

Default help exhaust question

hey i have a 12002 dodge ram 1500 slt 4.7 and right now have a stock exhaust and looking to upgrade i was looking at the flowmaster super 44 seris but went on there web site and coulsnt find one that would fit my year truck is that true said i could get a 50 but i dont want that i want loud lol can some one help me out here

pretty sure the 50 is quieter than the 44, that's what I always thought anyway. Look at the muffler length, the longer ones are generally quieter. Also, flowmasters have a tendency to rust out as a search through this forum will tell you. If you don't want something too loud, maybe consider a 22" or 24" magnaflow. Also, if you are just doing a muffler swap, you can put pretty much whatever you want on there as long as the inlet and outlet diameter match and you have the proper single/dual input or output.

Yes the 40 series is louder than the 50.I had the 40 on my truck and the wify didn't like how loud it was so i changed it to the 50.its still loud for her but when you get on it, when you get to cruising speed it mellows out and we can have a normal conversation without yelling at each other.i didn't buy a premade kit.i had a muffler shop make one.its single in and dual out.it comes out right behind the rear tires through 3" expantion tips

If you want noise get a Rustmaster, if you want flow, get a nice stainless Magnaflow.
