Rancho RS9000 adjustable shocks.
Anyone have a set of these on a QC 03 Hemi short box??
Opinions please on these Rancho's.
I have Bilstein HD 4600 shocks on my 03 at the moment and already after about 18mnths of use, the top rubber bushings are cracking and the front shock bottom bushings are "pushing out" of the shock.

I used to have a set on the front of my Toyota 4x4.thoose were the best shocks I have ever owned. I haven't had the $$$ to get some for my ram, I have that endless black hole of money happening(kids, bills etc.)but the next time I need a new set of shocks you can bet your a$$ I'm getting a set
Got em Al------Get em!
http://www.rockauto.com/ , they have some sort of "Rancho" sponsored rebate going now too.
Probably "buy 4----get one free" Mine are holding up Great, and the adjustability really helps-----I have a set of Firestone destination M/T's that are near the end of the trail, and the balance is awful---these shocks do help to lessen the "bob and weave" in them.

Why not just send them to Bilstein, have them press in new bushings and perform a revalve??? And you can have them valved to your spec...
Might even be cheaper than buying new...and Bilsteins are very reputable and a good monotube shock, and do offer these services (eg. its common to buy PSS9 for a sports car application (the cheaper non adjustable monotube offering for sports cars) and have them revalved to your spec)
Edit. even though it doesnt sound like you need a revalve, just new bushings pressed in...I gather you want a more aggressive shock anyway?? Hence my suggestion for a revalve which will be cheaper than buying new.

Thanks for all the help guys.
Next question is, will the Rancho's fit a torsion bar tweaked set up?
The reason I want to ditch the Bilsteins is, the tech support is rubbish over here in the UK.
Plus, I'm not entirely convinced that the front 4600 shocks are the correct ones for my torsion bar tweaked suspension. Even though the part numbers say they should be good.
The front rides horrible compared to my old RS500 Rancho's would you believe. Plus, even after the 5 years the Rancho's were on, there was no bushing failures or rubber rot. Not like the Billy's
Go figure.

I had the Rancho 5000's (which were still good) before I upgraded to the 9000's...I got a 5" lift with leveling keys as well and the ride is better than its ever been. I have a full replacement front bumper so I cranked my torsion bars slightly to regain the leveled stance I was wanting. Just my two cents since i'm just a single cab but you will not be disappointed with the 9000's
