Is there any way of telling if my 2002 Ram has keyless entry? I just bought the truck and have been told that it may have this option and I would just need to buy the key fob and have it programed.

Any thoughts?

 

If the passenger door has no key hole, then the truck has keyless entry.

 

Keyless entry is merely a term used to describe being able to unlock your doors via remote. You never use the key.

Just because a certain year model has the option, doesnt mean your truck does. I would call a local dealerships service department. I know there is an easy way to find out.

 

As far as I know the SLT and Laramie models come standard with the Keyless entry.

 

My SLT did'nt,i had to add the behind the clocks module and buy the remotes to activate it.

Get me your VIN and I will let you know if your truck came with factory keyless entry..........

 

Yeah...boy was I pissed when I bought a remote off ebay thinking that keyless entry was standard with SLT. Spent a good while tryin to program it myself, gave up frustrated as hell and went to the dealership to buy a remote from them. Tried to program it again while I was still there, so they then typed in my VIN just to find out that I didnt even have it. Grrr...

 

Don't need the VIN, don't need anything else, what is in the quotes is all you need to look for. It says it right in the Owner's Manual, Ram's with Keyless Entry do not have a Key hole on the passenger side front door.
