2007 dodge ram
Hello I have an issue! My 2007 Dodge Ram 4x4 5.7 Hemi. I recently had to take emission testing and failed. After getting everything replaced for emissions to include ending up putting in a new rear end that blew out in the process I now have an issue with the over drive. My dodge happens to be 1 of the 500 models that year that they put the fuel economy system on that cuts out cyclinders to save fuel. Well now after everything when I turn on the overdrive it starts cutting out cyclinder no matter how fast or slow I am going. What can I do. I don't have any engine codes coming up which is what dealer said I should have when not in over drive truck runs great no issues.

I have an issue with the fuel eco system mine dodge is 1 of 500 this year that got the fuel system that cuts out cyclinders to save fuel while cruising. problem is it comes on all the time when in overdrive even at 30 miles an hour. I just replaced all the emission stuff to pass emissions on top of a new rear diff complete replace all sensors etc. Dodge dealer says I should have a fault code up but I don't. What can I do and is there a way to bypass it.

From what I've come to understand, if the trans is placed in the tow/haul mode, the MDS is disabled.
I don't have first hand knowledge of this as mine is a stick, but maybe do a search using "tow haul"
I'm sure some of the others will chime in, if yours is "stuck" it seems a dtc would be set when the action isn't correct.
The only other way I can think of to disable it would be a tuner, or using a starscan programmer, available at the local dodge dealer, but I'm not sure you could convince them to do it, but you could always ask the question.
You might also try crawling under there and look at as much wiring as you can, especially around the diff. Its possible while they were in there they yanked or dropped something that involved your wiring and loosened or disconnected something (just shootin in the dark now) but its not like that hasn't happened before
Good Luck!
