You have to give the guy some time, he gets a ton of PMs and E-mails, he'll get to you no worries.

At this point I could try taking it to another dealer for a second opinion. I thought paying the big bucks for a oem remote starter would eliminate an issue like this. Guess I shouldve went aftermarket!

Anyone know how to diagnois this?

Mike,

Sorry to hear about your concerns. If you'd like additional assistance reviewing the concern, I can look into this further with your servicing dealer. Please PM me the name of your dealer and your VIN#, I'd be happy to help.

Still sounds like an electrical problem with the sentry system somewhere.... those problems can be very difficult to locate.... a lot of tracing wires is required.....

The dealership should be able to help if you find them all of the data, has DodgeCares helped you at all?

Default remote starter fix?

I had the same issue, I ended up disconnecting it from the ignition and then reconnecting it. That got the light to come on, but still did not start. It alerted to a hood switch/brake switch issue. The dealer wanted $90 to diagnose it. I checked the ground coming from the starter and that was my problem. Im not sure why, all it did was disconnect the ground and attempted to start the car, as expected it did not start. I did this a few times until the security light came on. After that I reconnected the ground and attempted another start with the remote starter. And what do you know it started right up on the first time without a problem.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I will have to look at that, maybe I can get lucky as well. Winter is coming, quickly and it sure would be nice to use my remote start!
