Someone must know!!
you know that kinda looks familiar, if they are in fact MOPAR steps, you should be able to get the parts dept to get you install instructions, or have them fax them to you or something... if they wont work with you, get me the part # from the kit and I will fax you the install instructions. I know the head guy at the local Chrysler Tech center where they train all the dealer personel and he for sure can get me what you need. But for some reason thse dont look like the way the MOPAR steps install, but you never know nowdays, they have always had goofy ways of installing stuff.

I did get install instructions with the steps but they are pretty worthless.. actually about as good as my diagram i just drew [8D]
Hopefully if i can get some pics tonight of the actual truck that might help

Cheers,
Richard.
do the instructions have MOPAR on them and the part number and such, or are they generic, if so they are not MOPAR steps. What about the box they came in, it should have had a part number on it...
These are the ones that i have got....

yes, those are the Mopar brand steps, and best thing to do is put the hangers up first, start the nut on each bolt, and snake the nut in the hole, and use a screwdriver to hold the nut in place. do that with all the hangers then once u get the steps on the hangers and tightened down, go through and tighten all the other bolts. also, where u located if u in southern illinois i can come by and show u how to slap em together right quick. but hope this helps.
Visual horsepower is over rated. If it doesn't make it go faster or stop better leave it off.
Last time I had side steps on a truck they were removed suddenly and violently from the truck by a rock.

well some people have a reason for needing them, i'm thinking about putting them on my truck or lowering it so my dad can ride or possibly drive it sometime.

I have installed a bunch of these steps and without air tools it probably won't be easy. Try putting the longest bolt through the bracket and thread the oval shaped nut on. The holes are already there, just put the nut in the hole and turn it a 1/4 turn so it won't pull out, then pull back on the loose bracket to put pressure on the nut so it won't turn and tighten the bolt. You may not want to tighten the brackets all the way until you get the tubular step bolted on to help line everything up.
The more i read of you guys posts the more i think i'm not actually missing anything... Unfortunatley
I just can't get over the fact that this is the best they can come up with to fit $350+ side steps on a $25k+ truck!!
At the very best, it'll scratch off all the paint on the inside of the chassis where the oval shaped nuts are, which in turn will lead to a possible rust problem. The designers of Lego do a better job at putting things together than Dodge if this is the way it should be!!
