Would have to check leaf spring spacing, track width and since the 2nd gen has rear drums and the 3rd gen discs, your braking bias would be all kinds off, requiring an adjustable proportioning valve.

The 9.25 is still being used today. The only differences are in the spring perches on the axle housing. The 2nd gen Rams had a narrower spring spacing than the 3rd gen. The rear brakes are also different as the 2nd gen uses drum brakes and the 3rd gen is disc brake.

Pretty much the same differential. Basic design has been around since '72 (my '74 Monaco had one).

I never had that problem through 100,000 (before I swapped it for the D60).
