There are many threads on this subject. I believe it is a faulty valve. Where it's located I don't know. I never worried about it after I found out it does no damage. My truck has 155k miles, it's had that symptom since about 50k, and trans still works great.

When was the last time you changed the transmission fluid and filters?

This kind of information should always be posted in your original post, as it helps a lot.

I bet that there is an issue with the rebuild, you should bring it back to that shop and see what they will do to set it right for you.

Exactly my transmission doesn't engage at all in any gear finally got around to diagnosing the problem when discovered that I need a torque converter repair sleeve and hopefully that'll solve the problem
