Default 04 ram 5.7 Transmission p0700 733 734 735

I really appreciate any help on this. Current 182k.
155k mile trans fluid/filters changed, very very dirty.

Last week all of a sudden my RPM's would increase as if gears slipping.
I checked fluid and it was fine.
I happen to check engine oil and it was very low, but dash showed no sign of engine running hot.
engine light came on giving these codes p0700, 0733, 0734, 0735.
I tested input speed sensor and found no ohms, replaced it.
Problem stopped, but engine light did not reset all weekend.

Yesterday I drove and all of a sudden trans shifted fine 1-2, but would not come out of 2nd gear.
Codes tested same again, spd sensor ohms still good.
Trans pressure sensor tested 50/150 ohms, replaced with new one 100/100 ohms between contacts.
This did not change this current problem.
I drove home 15-20 mph in 2nd gear.

I dropped trans pan and definite smokey smell but not terribly burnt up.
Little shavings but probably from driving home in 2nd.
Vent tube on top of trans is very dirty/greasy.

Tempted to put oil/filters in and see if problem was fluid/filter related, from old trans oil being so bad.
Not sure if I can check any other additional sensors in driveway before putting pan and oil back in, hate idea of draining/wasting new oil if it needs trans shop service.

I really appreciate last minute advice before I call tow to get it to trans shop.
Thanks, Bill

what is best recommendation moving forward: rebuild or new.
Any advice having either done?
Is it possible to trade some power for better gas mileage, never had better than 14.5mpg life of vehicle and actually has been the highest in this last year since changing fluids and adding additives to trans/eng oils.

When you had the transmission pan down, did you look at the side plate on the valve body or find any small piece's of screw heads laying in the pan?

I still have pan down.
I did not find any screw heads.
I did find some very small grinds (about the size of a grain of sand) (not normal metallic glitter), not sure if they were silver or black though.
I was told these grids would have been normal since I drove home in 2nd.

Should I drop plate and look for anything else, I have never gone further than dropping pan before?

It's time for a rebuild with those codes. P0700 is enough alone to know it's rebuild time. Sorry.

I tried to download your service manuals from another post.
My computer got bogged down with "anti-virus" programs that loaded even though I denied them. Had to uninstall and never saw manuals I was trying to download.

If you get a good quality reman its going to be a lot cheaper than a new transmission. I had my transmission replaced at Chrysler. Its still a re-manufactured transmission but cost about $4200 for the transmission. I see third party remans for less than $2000. I should have shopped around. The transmission works great and its warranteed parts and labor through Chrysler, but I paid a lot to get it.
