Default Mystery Switch

Hello everyone. New here so bear with me. Also new to the big 2007 Dodge 3500 4x4 and many of its features.
Bought this monster and I love it but first thing had to do was replace the rear end cause it howled!!
Anyway i have discovered a mystery switch that is right in front of the left knee on the lower part of the dash. It is a toggle switch with a red light in it and i bumped it with my left knee and a red light came on. I tried it off and on and i can not find what it controls.
Any idea about it will help me.
Thanks.

Aftermarket switch, see if you can trace the wiring.

hotdawg23,

Welcome to the Forum and congrats on the new truck. I agree with Hemilonestar, very likely an aftermarket switch if it is a toggle with a red light. Perhaps an aftermarket braking system or some type of controller. Anny chance you can post a few pics of your new Dodge?

Do you have an aftermarket remote start? Some have a remote disable toggle.

Sounds like a switch to aftermarket lights. Either roof lights or Grill mounted lights.

I mounted my grill light switch there:

On my 2006, my pedal control is in that vicinity. But there is no red light associated with it. Can't you just trace the wires that are connected to it?? If it lights up, obviously there is power there.

Wow, Dirtydog, how did you get that to look like factory?? Was that indent for the switch there before??

I want to thank you all for your input and ideas. That little switch does have power but have not been able to determine its final resting place. However, when i do i will share it with you all.
From all the info and suggestions i received here, it can be said that the switch is definately an aftermarket thing and probably is non functional at this point.
